Our History

Our commitment to product innovation and delighting consumers’ taste buds have kept delicious breads, tasty English muffins and sweet baked goods part of the American tradition for decades.

Bimbo Bakeries USA is a proud member of the Grupo Bimbo family of companies. Grupo Bimbo was born in 1945 in Mexico City, Mexico selling cellophane-wrapped small and large white loaf bread, rye bread and toast. The same year, Osito Bimbo was introduced as the beloved logo.

Did you know the name Bimbo is a combination of Bingo, a popular song in America at the time and the Disney movie, Bambi?
