Last month, Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU) and TerraCycle celebrated the installation of upcycled tables and benches at six Food Bank of South Jersey locations. As part of the Recycle, Save, and Impact a Community program, customers of ShopRite stores brought their empty Thomas’® Breakfast, Arnold® Bread, and Sara Lee® Bread bags to receive a coupon for a $1.00 off their next purchase at ShopRite.

With the recycled bags, BBU and TerraCycle made upcycled outdoor tables and benches that were donated to six food banks in local ShopRite communities.

BBU has a longstanding partnership with international recycling leader, TerraCycle. Through the Bimbo Bakeries USA Bag Recycling Program consumers can recycle their bread, buns, bagels and English muffin bags. For every pound of packaging waste sent to TerraCycle through the Bimbo Bakeries USA Bag Recycling Program, collectors earn points that can be used for charitable gifts or converted to cash and donated to non-profit organizations of their choice.
