A Toast to BBU Associates Making a Difference in the Lone Star State!

Mrs Baird’s is Fighting Texas Hunger!

Mrs Baird’s is continuing its commitment to fighting hunger with the fourth annual Fighting Texas Hunger program. This year, the brand is donating 165,000 loaves of bread to food banks across 11 Texas markets, including Amarillo, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, East Texas, Fort Worth, Houston, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Rio Grande Valley, Tyler, and San Antonio. The sales team also contributed by volunteering at the San Antonio Food Bank, where they made 1,844 sandwiches for the local community.

“Each summer, when children are out of school, food insecurity reaches its peak, putting extra pressure on food banks around the country,” said Jennifer Hudak, Brand Manager. “Mrs. Baird’s is committed to addressing this issue and supporting Texas communities, and we are proud to have expanded our 2024 Fighting Texas Hunger program to additional markets across the state.”

Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders

The Fort Worth, TX, team is fostering the next generation of leaders in Forest Hills. Recently, the team supported the town’s "Mayor for the Day" event where students from the Leadership Academy at Forest Oak Middle School participated in a unique essay contest, envisioning a city governed by kids.

Twelve students were selected to participate in a mock City Council meeting to discuss agenda items like choosing the official Bimbo Bakeries USA snack cake of Forest Hill. After much lively debate, Marinela Gansitos were selected!

BBU Associates Go from Beach to Bay

Associates from San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Weslaco and beyond recently participated in the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon. The annual event, one of the largest relay marathons in the country, honors the men and women serving in the U.S. military. Osito Bimbo made a guest appearance to cheer on the runners and hand out BBU product samples to the crowd.
