This summer, Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU) is proud to welcome 25 new summer interns. These students represent colleges and universities from across the country and include students who are part of BBU’s partnership with UNCF (The United Negro College Fund). Last year, BBU dedicated $500,000 to UNCF to provide scholarships, internships and participate in in the UNCF Student Leadership Conference.
The 25 interns will gain valuable on-the-job experience working in various BBU functions including Sales, Operations, Corporate Affairs, Finance, Marketing, Diversity, Equity & Belonging, and Human Relations.
Welcome Interns
In May, the interns were welcomed to the BBU Sales Center in Conshohocken, PA for a week-long orientation. During the orientation, the interns heard from many leaders across BBU to learn more about each function’s role in delivering on Our Purpose – to Nourish a Better World. The interns also toured retail stores in the Philadelphia market and local sales centers to see firsthand how product gets from the bakery to store shelves.
Additionally, the summer interns learned about BBU’s strong commitment to the communities where we live and work. During a session with Girls Inc., the interns learned about the organization’s focus on mentoring girls aged 5-18 and then volunteered by packing bookbags with water bottles, notebooks and handwritten letters to support and show appreciation for the girls in the Girl’s Inc. community.
The orientation was also a chance for the interns to get to know their peers who would be working across BBU this summer, building a network for their internship experience and beyond!
Stay tuned
Throughout the summer, BBU will spotlight our interns so you can learn more about who they are, where they are from and what they hope to learn during their internship. Follow BBU's LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram for more information about our interns.
